Film Club

West Sound Soccer Academy’s 2009/10 team draws players from all over Kitsap County- including Bainbridge, North Kitsap, and Bremerton. During our winter league season, we train on the field twice a week and on Wednesdays we gather online to train our soccer brains. Following a game weekend, we watch our own game film from our Veo camera. On bye weeks we may review film from a professional or collegiate game.

Watching game film is rewarding

We can identify patterns of play, freeze the action to discuss tactics and tradeoffs in decisions made in the heat of the game, relive the excitement of a game winning goal, or a game saving defensive play.

Watching game film can feel vulnerable

We may see our mistakes more readily than our positive contributions, and we may forget that on-field decisions are made under pressure and without the luxury of a pause button or a bird’s-eye view of everything happening around us.

Training set pieces last week paid off as MZ and EJ combine on the short corner to give us a 1-0 lead early in the first half.
